Class, Race & Veganism — a discussion about the intersections of animal-free practices, privilege, and cultural difference.

Dr Bidda Jones, Chief Scientist RSPCA Australia, joins us to discuss the recent announcement from the Minister for Agriculture, Barnaby Joyce, that Memoranda of Understanding will no longer be required for new overseas live animal export markets.
Glenys Oogjes, Executive Director Animals Australia, will discuss the litany of cuts to animal welfare initiatives. These cuts dramatically affect the ability of animal welfare organisations to provide advice to the government on animal welfare issues.
The cuts include:
* disbanding the Australian Animal Welfare Advisory Committee
* dismantling the Committee's initiative, the Australian Animal Welfare Strategy
* closure of the Department of Agriculture's Animal Welfare Branch
